Windows Phone ahead of BlackBerry by November 2012

At least three leading research firms believe that Windows Phone will bypass iOS by 2015, but it's almost impossible to look so far into the future of the mobile ecosystem. However, we can get an idea of what will happen in the next few months, and StatCounter predicts that Windows Phone will soon get ahead of BlackBerry.

According to WMPowerUser , Microsoft's mobile platform will bypass BlackBerry in the US by November this year. However, this has little to do with the success of Windows Phone, much more due to the impressive failure of BlackBerry.

Samsung and Nokia, the two main Windows Phone players, are expected to release a number of new WP-based smartphones in a few months, while BlackBerry 10 is reportedly only released next year. So most likely the US market will officially submit to Microsoft, and RIM will move to fourth position.

Whether Windows Phone will ultimately overtake iOS is another question. While this seems unlikely on the basis of what is happening now, but Windows 8 may well help the company in the mobile field and at least put Microsoft in third place in the world of mobile operating systems.
