Next-gen notebooks from Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo will have a 3D camera with gesture recognition


Modern laptops and desktop computers are becoming more productive. Of course, productivity has a certain limit, in addition, not all buyers of electronic devices are interested in acquiring such “airplanes”. Therefore, development companies are integrating new features into their devices that are not related to performance. It seems that next-generation laptops will have 3D cameras with gesture recognition technology that are technologically / similar to Kinect and Leap Motion.

The companies participating in the IDF indicated in the title confirmed the inclusion of a new type of camera with gesture recognition in the new laptops on display at the exhibition. In addition, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo said on plans for the release of laptops with 3D cameras - “relatives” of Kinect in the second half of 2014.

Among other things, Intel this year bought Omek, which was engaged in the creation of gesture recognition technologies for home and office equipment.
