Ubuntu Touch will be released on October 17

Although Ubuntu Edge has not received enough funding, the Ubuntu Touch operating system is developing further. One Canonical employee, Nicholas Skaggs, said on his blog that the month of final testing of Ubuntu Touch has begun. It is assumed that the first time the OS will be distributed in the form of firmware for existing devices, such as the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. Everyone can participate in the test by installing Ubuntu Touch on their device.
Canonical plans to release its own device next year.
